No CommentsMaterials:
- Several sheets of beeswax (available at craft stores)
- Cutting board
- Cookie cutters
- Candlewick
- Hair dryer
Lay a single sheet of beeswax on a cutting board and cut six shapes (or more if you prefer a thicker candle). Place the layers on top of each other and sandwich the wick in the middle of the candle. Press the shapes together. If they don’t stick right away, you might want to heat them up a bit with the hair dryer. To burn the candles, secure them to a non-flammable plate by melting the bottom a little bit and attaching it to the plate.

Two teaspoons beeswax
8 tsp. vegetable oil or sweet almond, castor, or jojoba oil
1 tsp. honey
5 drops essential oil of either lime, lemon, tangerine, or peppermint. Synthetic flavoring oils can also be used.In a small saucepan or double boiler, over low heat, melt together the oil and the beeswax. Remove from heat. Add honey and thoroughly blend the mixture. If you would like to add the color, do so now. Stir occasionally as it cools. Finished product should have the consistency of paste wax. Store in a small container. Discarded film canisters work great. Make several flavors and give an assortment as gifts.

These effervescent tablets when added to the bath, create soothing bubbles and make a delightful gift for both children and adults.
Ingredients:
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup citric acid
10 to 20 drops of a fragrance oil
10 drops of food coloring
Additional supplies:
Large, deep soap molds (available at craft stores)
Wax paper coveredĀ cookie sheet
Water mister
Thin sheet of cardboardPlace the first three ingredients in a large bowl and mix thoroughly. Scoop out 1/2 cup and place in a small bowl. Add the drops of food coloring and mix well. Return the contents of the small bowl to the large bowl and mix again. Remove 1/3 cup of the blended, colored salts to a small bowl. Spritz lightly with a fine mist. Be careful not to add too much or the salts will start to fizz. Using your hands, mix the salts. They should be damp enough to hold together. If not, mist a little more. Pack the damp salts into a clean, dry mold. Press down hard to pack in. Let set for few minutes. Place a thin piece of cardboard over the mold and gently flip over. The solid bath salt should fall out. Carefully slide the fizzy bath salt onto the wax paper covered cookie sheet and let dry overnight. Repeat the process with the other salts. Wraps salts in colored tissue paper and tie up with ribbon.
